Brodie simpson

Brodie is a reserved character. But his art does all the talking instead. Not only does he do ALL the artwork for Sanction he also works for Tempered bikes and a bunch of other side projects to boot. He is stupidly talented for a bro with no formal training and I am excited to see where he takes the Sanction in the future....

What's some crazy situations that BMX has gotten you into?:

I stopped riding just after I turned 18, But most bmx related craziness would have to have been from BMX Games '09. Being obnoxious in the streets, Dancing infront of a busker in the CBD for money, Miner and I robbing a 7/11 for a pack of crisps, Throwing dollar coins to strippers, Breaking into Wheeler's hotel room level (14 I think) by the drunk removal of the fire exit door, He got billed for that. And Benn Pigot, Wren knows.

What's your favourite alcoholic drink (Over 18's only!):

I live more of a straight edge way of life. But I tend to drink more of the female affiliated beverages. Vodka, Coke and Raspberry is sex on your tastebuds.

What was your first legit bmx you got?:

I'm pretty sure it was a Diamond Back "Viper" which when I look back, That thing was scene before the scene started, Those hangers were giant... And had translucent grips.

Most fond memory of BMX?:

I don't know, But BMX has given me a lot of friends which have made life fun.

Best foampit trick you have got in your pocket of bangers?:

I did a backie once.

What's your Favourite flavour of dinger?:

To chew? Franger gobbie? I'm sure Wheeler will be the only one who can answer that question, He did let slip he fingered his bum under the impression that everyone had done it.

What area did you grow up in and how was it growing up there?:

Basically lived in Ky my whole life, I didn't get into BMX properly until I was like 15/16 so until then I was a rat kid. But the bike scene in Ky is dead.

Who did you look upto when you first started riding?:

I see this question alot in BMX interviews and pretty much I dont think I looked up to anyone, Pro's anyway. I played Matt Hoffman and Dave Mirra but I didn't look up to them. I honestly dont know how I started riding, I used to skate before I started, But i've always had a bike.

Favourite spot to ride?

Pretty much my local park. I never did much street or dirt., and rarely travelled anywhere to ride.

What does your life outside of BMX consist of?:

Well every weekday is the same, I work in an abattoir so I get up for work at 5am, Get home from work at 4pm, Try get my design on for a few hours, Chill with my girl, Then in bed by 11pm, 6 hours later I do it all again. Weekends are usually mixed up with design work and chillin with my girl, and every now and then i'll smash drinks with my hombre's.

What would I find in your refrigerator right now?

In the bar fridge is Cruisers, Coronas, UDL and for some reason a large tub of yoghurt. The main fridge has way too much junk in it to list.

What did you want to be when you were 10 years old?

Alive. I pretty much don't plan much in my life, I live the day as it comes. But art is my interest. Either that or a caterpiller.

If you were a bicycle, What part would you be?:

If I were a bicycle, Then I would be a bicycle. If you were an animal, What vegetable would you be?. See what I did there?.

If your life had a theme song, What would it be?

I don't really think there is a song that "describes" my life. With the lyrical meanings aside.. The start of "Carrion" by Parkway Drive, The chorus of "Sing This" by I See Stars and the ending of "Snitches get stitches" by The Amity Affliction. That basically makes up three songs I like. I'm a sucker for an acoustic, Like a real ballad, Like "This dude looks tough, But he is down to heart" and have shots of me overlooking scenery. No homo.

Do you know how to kill a duck if you shoot it and it doesn't die? *Note, You can't shoot it again?

What are you looking forward to in 2010?

Mainly having a fun year. Progress in my art and get my projects going.

If you could add any rider or bro to The Sanction's team who would it be and why?

Wren. Because life's pretty straight without Wren.
